Let's talk about the 8 of Swords Tarot card. Have you ever felt like you were in prison or living in jail? I have. If you have ever been in an abusive relationship you can understand. Often people don't get why a woman (or man) won't leave their abusive partner or spouse. "Why doesn't she just leave?" Well, there are children and/or pets to be considered, Finances, the home, car... Insurance, judgement from family and "friends" and "the church."

Domestic Violence often begins slowly and methodically with emotional abuse. The abuser slowly works to isolate their "victim" "Lover" from their family, co-workers and friends. I personally was PARALYZED BY FEAR. I was afraid to leave. I have seen many women leave and end up homeless or living in a shelter.. Damned if they stay.. damned if they go.. HELTER SKELTER. If you feel trapped right now don't judge yourself harshly. Start preparing for your escape. You will find your freedom (I did) Even with a broken wing.. the caged bird can still sing. Realize that you are stronger than you know. Use the time in your "cell" to learn and grow. The 8 of Swords card shows us that we are often our own worst enemy and we limit ourselves because of lack of self esteem, lack of confidence and because of the words we have had spoken to us and over us.. like "You are nothing." "You can't survive without me." You are NOTHING without me. "No one wants you." Don't listen to the hurtful words that wound like sticks and stones. If worst comes to worst you may have to use a little Voodoo and bones..
